How Do I Enter, Edit, Delete A Listing?
The listing from is fairly self-explanatory, but there are a couple of features that could use clarification.
Choosing Categories: The Manage button allows you to choose which categories you want to be in, as well as add more than one category. While you may choose unlimited categories, it also won't help you any to be in any categories that don't really apply to you. Navigate the directory and choose categories by using the
- Once you've selected a category/sub-category that you want to be in, click the "Also appear in this category button" to add your listing to it.The extra categories you've added will appear beneath your prime category. A Remove link will appear in front of these extra categories.
- The "Update Category" button will set the prime category that you want to be in. This is the category you will always be in regardless of the extra categories you choose (or not). This category is shown at the top by the listing heading. For example: Directory > Financial > Banks. This means you are in the main category of Financial under the sub-category of Banks.
Adding Text: Advanced formatting capabilities are not available at this time, but should be in future releases. A simple text box is provided for entering a description.
Images: The Images button allows you to upload as many as 6 Web compatible images. This means they must be JPEG or PNG files. It doesn't matter if they are photos or graphics, as long as they're the proper format. While our system rezises images, please do not upload very large or high-resolution images. Since the Web and your computer monitor only display 72 dpi, the high-resolution photos created by many of today's mega-pixel cameras will clog our database with extraneous data that's not even used. Please be sure to decrease the size and resolution of your photos and artwork accordingly. Images are sized to is 600 X 600 px maxiumum, so uploading a 5000 pixel wide photo will not provide you with a better picture and serves no purpose.
Editing Listings: If you want to edit your listing later, it's easy to do. An Edit button outlined in blue will appear in front of the listings heading. You must be logged in to see this button. It appears anywhere that you browse to the listing, both in the summary view and in the full view.
Deleting Listings: The Delete button only appears in the full listing view. You must be logged in to see it. You can get to the full listing view either by normal browsing methods, or by clicking the My Admin button in the Directory menu.
My Admin: This link in the directory menu is the direct link to all your listings, favorites, and even reviews you've placed.
